I don't drink, but I want to buy a decent bottle of wine for each of my parents for Christmas. Know any good red wines within $35-$50? I'm in California, USA. They drink red wine for certain meals or for special occasions, but most often they drink white wine, Chardonnay being their go-to. Maybe white would be better? Is the quality spectrum by price range comparable between reds and whites? In other words, is the gap in quality between low and high priced whites similar to that of low and high priced reds? As you probably guessed, I have no idea what I'm doing.
